The People

As a growing company in a high tech industry, people are our key asset - their range of skills is, and has to be, extensive. Our staff are flexible, adaptable and ready to take responsibility.

LISS concentrates on building in-depth insurance knowledge throughout its teams, so that what we consider to be the essential business-facing approach of the company is maintained.

The LISS management team:

Derek Banks - Managing Director

A founder member and Managing Director of LISS Systems, Derek has spent all his working life providing IT and Management Services to the Life Assurance Industry and the London Insurance Market from both an underwriting and broker perspective. He has been responsible for the introduction of significant application software packages (e.g. CAPS-I-L and LIFEfit) into the UK and European marketplace.

Derek has played and continues to play a key role in the development of LISSIA. He is closely involved in the analysis, design and specification of major function for each new implementation of the system. He is also actively involved in the management and control of every LISSIA project.

Howard Pyman - Technical Director

Also a founder member and director of LISS Systems, Howard has been involved both in the management of IT and Operations of end-user companies, and of software development and installation for a variety of national and international insurance based companies. This has included both General and Life, from broker and underwriting perspectives.

Howard plays a similar key role to that of Derek in the analysis, design and specification of new function, seeing this through into the development and delivery of the system, and has overall responsibility for the development direction of the system.

David Hanley - Services and Project Director

David joined LISS Systems in September 2000. He has twenty years experience in both general and life insurance with Guardian Royal Exchange (internationally) and AXA Insurance (UK) in a range of line management and project roles.

David has a project management and coordination role across all LISSIA projects. He works closely with the system designers in the planning, organisation and presentation of the project, and continues a close involvement in the project management and financial control throughout the implementation.

Alicja Gorska - Project Director

Alicja is a founder member and director of LISS Systems. Alicja has twenty years experience in developing systems for the life insurance industry. She has successfully managed major projects both for F.I.T and for LISS Systems.

As the Project Director for the Group Business version of LISSIA, she is playing the leading role in design and development of the LISSIA Group System.

Peter Bowyer - Service Manager

Peter joined LISS Systems in 1999 as a Senior Programmer following various roles in the Financial Sector, including working for a major Clearing Bank, a Merchant Bank and as an Information Technology consultant. He designed and implemented a Money Market and Foreign Exchange system for a major Swedish bank that was installed in London and New York.

Since joining LISS Peter has implemented LIFEfit for a new customer and successfully developed and installed several large projects for existing LIFEfit customers. He is now involved in project managing conversions from the legacy system to LISSIA.
